A Day of Awkward Travel

I spent my morning travelling from Sheboygan to Seattle, heading home for a brief visit. Before I left, I shared an idea on my Facebook page to document the day in photos – pushing myself outside my comfort zone to ask strangers if I could take their picture. A number of my friends encouraged me to do it. So, that’s what I did.

I had several moments where I was this close to asking someone if I could take their picture… and then I chickened out. It was a fun exercise in awkwardness and trying to push myself.

I discovered that it never hurts to ask. (That’s how I ended up in the cockpit after all the other passengers had gotten off the plane.) Some people may say ‘no’ and look at you like you’re crazy (like one particular security guard today). But, others may smirk and say ‘yes.’

P.S. I managed to sneak my feet in one of the cockpit pictures. See if you can spot them!

I think you should change your title to "The Footloose Fotographer".

Welcome home - sorry we won't be able to see you tomorrow.

Aunt Duddie: Ha ha. Well, if I hadn't already bought the awkwardphotographer domain, then perhaps I'd consider it. ;)
