This is Su-Ling, my mom’s cat:
We’ve always owned Siamese cats (primarily appleheads – the ones with the rounder, less severe face shapes). I’ve grown up listening to their distinctive meows and respecting their unique personalities.
Generally, Siamese cats seem to attach themselves to a particular person. They aren’t always very social with groups of people. Contrary to the stereotype however, we have never had a cat with a troublesome personality.
Su-ling (or “Susie”) is no exception. She’s exceptionally sweet and good-natured. She wakes up every morning ecstatic to greet her family. She is very vocal and ‘talks’ to us regularly.
I took these pictures the morning of my move to Vancouver. They are a wonderful reminder of my loving family back home.
I’m looking forward to continuing the Siamese tradition and adopting my own in the coming weeks.
