Every wedding is special in some way. This wedding was especially special to me.
I’ve known Jazzmin since she was in her early teens and her family includes a few of my favorite people. She was also the subject of my first graduate session.
I don’t know Daine very well yet, but I was impressed that through all of the stress and excitement of the wedding day, he remained calm. And Jazzmin loves him. So, he must be an exceptional guy. :)
I was touched at how family-oriented this wedding was. Daine’s sister took care of hairstyling. Jazzmin’s mom did everyone's makeup. Her dad sang several sweet songs, while her brother strummed along.
Above: Jazzmin made this collage and had it hanging in her room. How perfect!
Above: This is the view that I actually squealed over. The stairs. The trees. The windows. Oh dear gorgeous.
Some creepy old fishermen walked by and said something about absconding with the bride. I was just about ready to clock them with my camera.
Above: Lesson learned. If you see an awesome boat in a locked marina, go ahead and ask some dudes working inside to open the gate. And then, when you can't figure out how to open the door to get out, ask them for more help. They can't say no when you're walking around with an adorable couple.
I love graffiti! Especially when the word 'love' is scattered around.
Above: The Golden Gardens Bathhouse was a beautiful location for the wedding. It was intimate and elegantly rustic.
Above: Oh, I love these people. I told them to make funny faces. So cute!
Above: I have a newfound appreciation for bowties. They are awesome.
Above: I love those father-daughter moments that Cassie captured. I get a little teary looking at them.
And now, a new feature that I will attempt to include on future session and event posts:
Awkward Moments
- Getting lost while following the bride and groom to the wedding location.
- Not having time to put on makeup until after taking pictures of the bride getting ready.
- The bride fixing my makeup.
- Nearly dropping the wedding rings off a dock at a marina.
- Assisting the bride with removing wardrobe tape from her armpits.
- Using my extra clothes to warm the bride’s feet.
- Dropping my prime lens… twice.
- Shrieking upon noticing an awesome photo background and continuing to freak out as I took pictures because the scenery was so gorgeous.
