Devan (of Mad Cap Photography) and I spent our day in downtown Portland, looking for people willing to have their picture taken. We will be posting all of our pictures on a collaborative blog (click to view), but here are a few of my favorites from my camera.
This was a neat experience. I’m not sure when I will do it again, since it was rather exhausting, but it was a satisfying challenge – artistically and personally.
Awkward Moments
Suffice to say, the whole day was fairly awkward, but we’ll fondly remember a few experiences.
- Waking up an hour later than we anticipated.
- Getting lost before we got to our first destination.
- Mixing several exits due to GPS difficulties.
- Searching in vain for a public bathroom.
- Trying to explain exactly what we were doing… and then having to explain again because it didn’t make sense the first time.
- Hesitantly jaywalking.

Awesome project. Congrats to both of you
LOVE it!
Splendid Jenna! I absolutely want to do a photowalk with you in San Francisco this summer before or after Dreamforce. I wish you had been with us in 2007 when we did a photowalk with Thomas Hawk. Thomas picked me and my friends up at our hotel and we went out to the Sutro Baths as well as the Castro district and there are some fantastic photos of it. http://thomashawk.com/2007/09/had-great-time-photowalking-sutro-baths.html
Nice job and let's plan ahead for San Francisco.
Jeff: Sounds great! I'll take a look at those pics now.
